Category: Documentation Group: v3.1 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Gert van der Kooij (gkooij) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: DLGAREA examples within Init Initial Comment: Hi, The examples within chapter 10.10.1 showing the DlgArea class all are using the 'new' method while the 'init' method is described. It's a bit confusing now if you don't know that the init method is always executed when a new instance is created. In my opinion the 10.10.1 init method should be renamed to 'new' to prevent confusion. I agree. It's not ideal, but at least it is consistent & I do apreciate the thoroughness of the ooRexx documentation. kind regards, Jon ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Gert van der Kooij (gkooij) Date: 2006-12-16 11:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=685845 Originator: YES Hi Jon, In the other classes the init method is described in the same way you described it for the dlgarea class so I don't think we should change them. If you agree I will delete this bug report. I was in a quandry how to present it. I don't mind either way. I guess if it was changed to 'New' it should be suffixed with '(Class Method)' and the syntax diagram should be amended likewise. There is an example right below the list of arguments that shows using the 'new' class method I for one would be happy for Gert to amend the text if he could make it clearer.
