No 32-bit version of product for IBM System z/Linux - SLES10 or SLES11 - supplied, so need to build from source.

Compiles ok on both SLES10 SP4 and SLES11 SP2, but hangs on ./rexximage as follows:

...
cp ./interpreter/RexxClasses/.orx .
cp ./interpreter/platform/unix/
.orx .
./rexximage

At this point the process has to be killed to free the session. Need the 32-bit version of ooRexx in order to work with DB2 LUW Database which has stalled at 32-bit support only.

Would appreciate any pointers to get around this. On a previous case (i.e. with v3.1.2) the compiler option -O2 was implicated and a successful build was accomplished by using a lower optimization value -O0 (?), if I remember correctly.

I Will try once more with a lower optimization level and report back.

So far we have not been able to determine what causes the hang during the creation of rexximage on some zLinux distributions. It seems to be determinant on the level of glibc but that is as far as we have been able to debug it.

Confirming that it still hangs with the -O0 optimizer option, in override of -O2.

Would appreciate any update on the progress of the debugging.

As was indicated, I have both SLES10 SP4 and SLES11 SP2 installed here and can provide debugging assistance if you need it. Just let me know.
