#5 Bad recovery after X restart

I have noticed that the applet does a bad job when X
windows had to be restarted using Ctrl-Alt-Backspace
when an open office application was running as an open
window on the desktop. I'm not exactly sure what
happened when the computer was restarted, but whenever
I tried to bring a non-open office window into focus,
the open office component would immediately come to the
foreground, and no other application could be used
because of this. When I tried to kill open office, it
immediately restarted.

I suspect this has something to do with a clash between
the applet, and that program restart upon reboot
functionality of gnome.
