Is there a way to make a pdf or some other vector graphics format out of the equation which could then be used in open office? Texshop (http://www.uoregon.edu/~koch/texshop) on Mac works in that way.
I have already heared of several people buying a Mac just because of Keynote and Texshop.
Perhaps I should explain why I think this would be a good idea: A vector graphics file would allow resizing without quality loss.
And perhaps just in short how Texshop works. You write your equation in the texshop window, then it displayes the typeset formula and you drag it over to e.g. Impress. Thats incredibly simple and efficient.
