Yes. With the commands
env CFLAGS="-fnested-functions" LIBTOOL=/usr/bin/glibtool ./configure;
make;
sudo make install;
everything builds and gets installed fine. (Even better than the
previous solution that I mentioned with the soft link to glibtool).
