[ooc-compiler] Once again: make: *** [install] Error 1

After having been abstaining for a couple of years from oberon (using C# 
as substitute) I tried to install it under the actual version of MSys on 
Windows XP. Following the instructions in README.WIN32, 'make install' 
stopped with the lines

> /bin/install.exe -m 644 lib/obj/ADT/ArrayList.o c:/usr/local/lib/oo2c/obj/ADT
> make: *** [install] Error 1

Found some similar error reports on this lists, but they didn't give me 
a clue. Executing the '/bin/install.exe -m 644...' command manually 
didn't result in any error message. How can I find out more about the cause?
