StaffBoard is a project that shoots off of the GNOME 3 desktop environment. Its purpose is to provide an easy, friendly, clutter-free, and intuitive interface for Prelude. The StaffBoard can be tweaked to a user's liking with the Tweak Tool. Although the interface is touch-optimized, StaffBoard is not a tablet interface and Prelude is not a tablet operating system.
Spaces is the 'hub' of StaffBoard. It is the way to quickly access favorite apps, manage desktops (known as spaces), and launch applications. To activate it, users can hover ove rthe left corner of their screen, press the Super key (usually Windows key or Command key), or click 'Spaces'.
The favorites dock is a dock on the left side of the screen in Spaces. Users can pin apps to this dock or launch an application with the App Menu (four squares). The dock's icons' size change when more apps are added.
Any open apps on a particular space will show up in the center of Spaces. To move a window to a desktop, users can click and drag that window to a space on the right. To close an app, users can hover over that window and click the black 'X' button.
The spaces show up on the right side of the screen in Spaces. Users can switch, add, and remove spaces from here.
A search bar is located at the top of Spaces so users can search documents, apps, and other information.
PowerMenu is located at the top right of the screen. Users can quickly change the volume, log out, sut down, restart, or lock the screen easily.
The file manager is an important part of any operating system. Files allows users to quickly manage files in a clutter-free way.
