Hi guys, I'm officially back in business ;) The local TelCo took 2 months to sort them selves out and give me ADSL again. Anyway, I'm back now, and I'll be around a lot more often. I've got a bit to say after all this time, so this will be a long email ;) First off, I'm really impressed with the work that's been done while I've been away. The pre-compiled binaries look great - I hope we can do that more often. Great work everyone! I'm in my last 4 months of a degree, and I've got a very large project that needs finishing before I can graduate. This means that I won't be able to devote heaps of time to Once, but I'll certainly be around more than I was before... With regards to the world editor, I still have the source code here, I ran into a technical hitch, but now that I have the Internet again, I should be able to sort that out. I intend to continue working on it, and I expect it will become my main area of contribution. I intend to continue developing the design documents, website, and wiki. I understand a few of you got a bit edgy about the website being on my server while I was away (and rightly so), but rest assured: if you can't get hold of me, you can always leave a message with Caillan, and he can pass it on to me. As for modelling: I'm learning to use 3D studio max, so I might be able to contribute some more models fairly soon (time permitting). Another thing: I've decided to leave NZ. I have English citizenship, and I intend to use it ;) I'll probably move before the end of the year. Finally, I'd like to request a status update from the developers. What's happened while I was away? I lost most of my emails over that time period, so I'm completely out of touch. What time are meetings? what's the state of CVS? Thanks. -- Thomi Richards, th...@on... |
