As you probably saw over on the Yahoo group, someone seems to have
found a bug in OnBC. I was just a little unclear as to what the favoured
procedure was with this, and enhancement requests from users, especially
in light of our transistion to using the Sourceforge Task List system.
For now, I've added it to the Bug Tracker, as it's not been verified.
Are things from the Bug Tracker still going to be added to the Task List,
as before? Or are they just going to remain on the Bug Tracker in future,
to save duplication? I believe previously, once verified as genuine, they
moved onto the Task List.
Also, are users encouraged to submit bug reports and feature requests? If
so, maybe we could add somethign about it to the User's Guide, Wade? Maybe
a 'When things go wrong' or 'Troubleshooting' section, pointing people to
a) Check things
b) Reproduce a minimal example of teh problem where possible
c) Search the yahoo archives for any similar problems
d) Ask (useful) questions on teh Yahoo group
And details of how to submit bugs and feature requests. For bug reports,
ensuring that we request for people to include:
a) A minimal example where possible
b) A clear description of the problem
c) Version numbers for OnBA, OnBC, SrcEdit, OS, Device and any other tools
Do we prefer the current status quo, whereby people point these things out
on Yahoo, and one of the development team spot it, review whether it seems
a genuine bug/sensible feature request and then post it?
Any idea anyone?
