Aftercore. I got tired of KoL telling me the old man wants his boot so I enabled the sea quest line in OQ. It successfully found the flytrap pellet. I executed the task to use it. That seemed to work but I was then given a task to get a flytrap pellet. I messed around manually in hopes something might change. KoL directed me to Little Brother but OQ thinks there is nothing to do. Could be a typo or could be related to the fact that this character has previu=ously completed all of the sea quests in previous runs.
P.S. I was not running mercenary mood so that may have been a factor.
I don't believe that was a factor in this case, as the satisfied conditions (which, by the way, can be seen in the browser for a given step by mousing over the step ID number) are simply checking whether the Sea Monkees quest property is at step1 or higher. Your quest step was evidently not updated when using the flytrap pellet. Did it show expected results after a reload? Because OQ always hits the quest log when loading, to ensure quest steps are sync'd.
Missed this response. It is showing get the flytrap pellet again as a step to be completed. I'll manually adjust the quest step and I am willing to chalk this up to KoLmafia getting out of synch until it happens again.
P.S. There is come confusion - perhaps on the part of the operator - between the quest the wiki calls "An Old Guy and the Ocean" and "Sea Monkees Quest". There also seems to be a difference between the quest status mafia sets in questS02Monkees and what OQ is expecting. Tangentially, I cannot edit that specific variable in PrefRefPlus because of all the mouse over popups and limited screen size :-( Except for the latte (which still unequips the mug via canGo) I think I need to stop Sea adventuring until I ascend and a) everything is reset and b) I can pay more attention.
Perhaps you need to manually visit the brothers at the Sea Castle to confirm the older brother has been found to get mafia to re-sync? I'd give that a shot before giving up. I'm in aftercore at the moment so will try running the Sea quest again and see if I have any issues.
Also the Old Guy quest and the Monkees quest are quite intertwined (they have overlapping steps as you have to progress a ways into the Monkees quest to find the boot) so I've not attempted to differentiate them in OQ. Everything is just "sea". We check the Old Guy quest property to determine if the Sea is unlocked, but then have to check the Monkees quest property to determine zone unlock progress on the sea floor. Confusion justified!
Also also, you may have already known this but if you have an outfit called "underwater" OQ will default to using that for any underwater locations, rather than your defaultoutfit.
KoL tells me I need to rescue Big Brother from the Wreck. KoLmafia has the quest pref at step1 which is the wreck rescue step according to PrefPrePlus. OQ says there are no Sea tasks available. Past tasks 14002, 4, 5 and 6 are completed. I can manually visit the Castle and the Sea Floor and observe that the Wreck is available. I note the absence of a task 14007 but not the significance thereof. I will keep this character away from the Sea for a bit. I am almost certain that Mercenary Mood was not enabled previously so if it set or cleared something then that might be the problem. (See feature request to warn about MM not enabled). I also do not have an outfit named underwater defined.
