The "Building" document in Omni

    Hello,

    In the document "Building" it states that one should "unzip the Omni source from the GhostScript directory." However there is no Omni source pre-installed in the GhostScript directory. Should one move the archived Omni tarball and install it in the GhostScript directory?

    Will the printing process work if the Omni source is *not* in the GhostScript directory? Perhaps greater clarity might be brought to the building document if the preposition "from" was changed to "in." i.e Unzip in the GhostScript directory. Or, unzip Omni source which resides in the GhostScript directory.

    Also, in going through the build process step by step, I had some questions about
        2.1 Install GhostScript.
    I assumed that I neede to configure GhostScript with ./configure and make, but now that I read "building" carefully I am unsure. Should I build Omni in the GhostScript directory first, then run ./configure  and make on GhostScript? That is my inference from the document so that is what I have done.

    When I get to
       2.5 Apply GhostScript patches;
    which patches do you mean? I am running GhostScript 7.05.

      In section 2.2 it says to unziip the current Omni source from the ghostscript directory.

      At 2.1 you do not corfigure or build ghostscript yet.  That is done in section 2.5 Configure ghosctscript and section 2.6 Build ghostscript.

      Section 2.5 describes where the patches are located and the naming convention.

      Mark,

      Thanks for your reply. I did not read the document closely enough, if I had I would have been able to answer my own question.
