Hello,
I have been using omnibook module for over two years now, and I can say I'm thrilled to see the project coming to life again.
Anyway, I'm using Toshiba Satellite A200, and the only thing I lack in Linux is propper fan control. It would be perfect if fan turned on/off depending on the CPU load/temperature, like it did while I was using Windows.
I load omnibook with these options:
# modprobe omnibook ectype=12 userset=1
# ls /proc/omnibook
ac blank cooling hotkeys temperature touchpad wifi
battery bluetooth dmi lcd throttling version
# cat /proc/omnibook/dmi
BIOS Vendor: TOSHIBA
BIOS Version: V2.00
BIOS Release: 01/09/2008
System Vendor: TOSHIBA
Product Name: Satellite A200
Version: PSAE6E-04R036G3
Serial Number: Y7263671K
Board Vendor: TOSHIBA
Board Name: 1.00
(it actually has Phoenix BIOS)
# cat /proc/omnibook/cooling
Cooling method : Powersave
For now, I can only control the fan speed with echo {0,1} > /proc/omnibook/cooling, but the fan remains always on.
Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work,
Dimitrije
