#49 Shutdown and Brightness problem in TOSHIBA Satellite M45

Dears,

I have installed openSUSE linux 11.0 with kernel 2.6.25.20-0.1 default and PAE
on TOSHIBA Satellite M45 S355.

Everything was fine for around a year, but thing are getting strange now. i have
omnibook module installed, but the laptop:

1. cannot shutdown properly:
it turns off HDD but cannot turn off the system

2. LCD brighness:
it does change it, but after ~ 5 min, it changes the value to something around
230 !!! and cannot change it anymore.

here is dmesg | grep omnibook last line (this complete report is attached to
this mail) : ==> omnibook: smi_command failed with error 4294967291.

what should i do? could you please help me ?
