loading the module without specifying an ectype gives the following:

ls -l /proc/omnibook
total 0
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 2007-12-09 21:34 dmi
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2007-12-09 21:34 lcd
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 2007-12-09 21:34 version

BUT, regardless of what I echo to lcd, the brightness does not change.
