Hi,
On omnibook.sf.net you ask users with yet unsupported Notebooks to send
some output and since some features work with your module i want to
provide you with some info. If you are missing something or just have
any more questions i hope i can help you out so don't hesitate to email
me :)
I use Debian unstable with unofficial packages from
http://packages.kirya.net/. Kernel is:
linux-image-2.6.22-1-686 from Debian, Debian version is 2.6.22-3
First thing i did was 'modprobe omnibook ectype=1', then i tried with 12
and 13 as you suggest on your site.
I am not quite sure yet what was best, but probably one. Please correct
me if that is wrong. dmesg's output after all three modprobes is
attached ( i hope. i always forget about attachments when i announce
them in the mail... )
The following attachments are all done after a ectype=1 modprobe... If
you need it for the other ectypes as well, please say so.
blank: seems not to work:
marvin:~# echo 1 > /proc/omnibook/blank
marvin:~# cat /proc/omnibook/blank
LCD console blanking hook is enabled
marvin:~# echo 0 > /proc/omnibook/blank
-su: echo: write error: Device or resource busy
marvin:~# cat /proc/omnibook/blank
LCD console blanking hook is disabled
marvin:~# echo 1 > /proc/omnibook/blank
-su: echo: write error: Device or resource busy
marvin:~# cat /proc/omnibook/blank
LCD console blanking hook is disabled
display: not tested
dmi: attached
dump: attached
fan:
marvin:~# echo 0 >/proc/omnibook/fan
-su: echo: write error: Input/output error
in messages: omnibook: Attempt to switch off the fan failed
fan_policy: not tested
hotkeys: no hotkeys on this notebook
lcd: works, but the maximum is 7 in this notebook
temperature: works
touchpad: not tested
The features i didn't test i either do not know how to or have no idea
how to determine wether they work or not. If you need one of those
tested on this notebook please give me a hint on how to do so.
Attachments:
dmesg for ectypes 1, 12, and 13
/proc/omnibook/dmi
/proc/acpi/dsdt = equium_m50-164.aml
/proc/omnibook/dump
Thanks for the work. I really appreciate someone writing software for me
to check my CPU's temperature
Regards
Hendrik Jaeger
