Hi all anyone of you guys know this problem: When i try to save the user settings (Language, Signatures ...) i get an error message: unable to create User Directory !! The same thing happens when i try to add some mails into the address book! seems like a permissions problem... not ? anyway.. the rest works fine... i have oMail version 0.95pre1 any help ? Marcel |

Hello, I was wondering what it would take to set up oMail to work with a single UNIX user that contains multiple domains and accounts. I'm not using vmailmgr. I pretty much have the setup described by the Single UID HOWTO (http://www.pgregg.com/projects/qmail/single-uid-howto.php). Basically, I have the UNIX user popusers own all of the maildirs, and a file, poppasswd, that contains information for the POP server to find a user's maildir and crypted password. foo@...'s Maildir is located in /var/qmail/popusers/example.com/foo/Maildir Then, I'll use CGIWrap (which basically lets CGI scripts run as a normal user) to run oMail as popusers, so it will have full access to the maildirs. I've already begun some work on this. Would anyone be interested in adding this to the official version of oMail? -- Paul Ming paul@... |

Hi, I've been copying the lang directory all over the place, and experimenting with the variables, with no success. Would be nice it the Install file was a little more explicit. (As you note, I have tried the scripts in a 'webmail' sub directory of my DocumentRoot '/home/email' as well as in the cgi-bin directory. Both situations give me the same errors. Anyways here is what I have. httpd.conf <VirtualHost 64.86.63.30> ServerAdmin bkelly@... DocumentRoot /home/omail ServerName omail.metahost.net ErrorLog logs/omail.metahost.net-error_log CustomLog logs/omail.metahost.net-access_log common <Directory "/home/omail/webmail"> AllowOverride None Options ExecCGI Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/usr/local/apache/cgi-bin/ ScriptAlias /webmail/ "/home/omail/webmail/" </VirtualHost> # paths my $scriptpath = '/home/omail/cgi-bin'; my $sendmail = '/usr/sbin/sendmail'; my $omaildir = '/var/omail'; # to store sessions my $logfile = '/var/omail/omail.log'; # logfile my $langsubdir = "lang"; # in $scriptpath # urls my $scripturl = '/omail.pl'; my $prefsurl = '/omail-prefs.pl'; # for preferences setup my $button_url = '/buttons/'; # absolute url My 'lang' directory is in: /home/omail/lang /homeo/mail/webmail/lang /home/httpd/cgi-bin/lang The permissions on lang are r wxr xr x PS : The scriptpath variable sample ends with 'www' which seems more like a server root than a script path. Don't really understand what the difference between scriptpath and scripturl. Thanks very much for any help. Boyd |

hi there i am using qmail with virtual domains on one ip address. i am NOT using vmailmgr, instead the form "prefix-username" and entries in /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains. how can i configure omail to let my users login with "username@..."? is this possible without using vmailmgr? when i login now and compose a message, it doens't display a domain name after my loginname... it's possibly the same reason ... thx andré |

I have installed "omail-webmail-0.94" and "omail-admin-0.96pre9" on Qmail 1.03+patches-14 & Vmailmgr 0.96.8-1. The problems are: 1. I can login with any username/passwd. 2. My old accounts are not visible. 3. I'm unable to create new users. Infact I create but are not visible and nor actually created. 4. Same is the case with aliases. \\// (o o) oOOo-(_)-oOOo------- ====================================== Arminder Singh System Administrator - Linux TC Internet Software Pvt. What i did was the following: I used a dedicated web-server for just mail and had it running as vpopmail/vchkpw (Couldn't get suExec to work ..)
