Please provide further details:
- version of OL LookForDuplicates
- bitness of Windows, Office Outlook (32- vs. 64-bit)
- location of the duplicates (local pst-file/Exchange/IMAP account/offline account/...)
- how many duplicates have been found in total
- how many duplicates belong to the item which is to be deleted
- at which position in the list is the problematic item (first/second/last/...)
- Did you use the default selection of items to be deleted?
- How many items have been selected to be deleted?
- Did the deletion of any other duplicate work or is the problem restricted to a specific item?
- Does the "Show selected"-button of the problematic item work prior to deletion?
- Did you scan a subset of your folders previously and later on added folders for a rescan or vice versa?
- further steps to reproduce

According to https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/office/ff869893.aspx a possible solution is to provide the optional StoreID of the folder to GetItemFromID(). Will be fixed in future release.
