Hi,
1) please be sure to code you file in Unix format before pusblishing a shell/python script.
2) make it executable
3) For FreeBSD (you mention you are compatbile with this system), python is not located in /usr/bin but in /usr/local/bin (not a part of the system => local)
4) Readme must be updated and tell about configure.py not configure.sh
