In our tests, it appears that, when everything is ok,
and there are no errors, the eglGetError() returns 0
while it (apparently) it should return EGL_SUCCESS

Functions will now set the error code to EGL_SUCCESS. In
addition, several error conditions are now handled.
ideally, we would handle even more, but I am not aware of
windows functions to validate handle objects explicitly.
