Frequently asked questions

After starting OffRoad I get a white screen and not a map. Why?

You have to download the World_Basemap to have a background map for all world's locations.

How do I install OffRoad?

Use the appropriate installer for Windows. You may choose the Debian package for Linux. For the other OS, you can simply unpack the zip-release. You have to start the application via double click on the OffRoad.jar.

Where are the maps (and other data) stored?

You'll find the data in the subfolder ".OffRoad" of you user's home directory. It is planned that you can put the maps elsewhere, but currently not supported.

You can create a junction in .OffRoad folder, pointing to the maps stored elsewhere:
    mklink /j maps D:\elsewhere

    1. Where can I find the Debian package for Linux?
    2. offroad.jar works fine with win10. With Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia (base: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy) and OpenJDK 17 I can close OffRoad-bin-0.6-beta3 only by xkill.
