Search house numbers with Open Addresses

OpenStreetMap maps already contain house numbers (if someone added them), so the normal search should already find them.
I can confirm it works when using the "Search"->"Find" menu.
A bit unfortunate it doesn't seem to work using the search bar like it works in Osmand (unless using online search), but it's there in principle without the need for any extra database.
Good to know it's there in principle. House numbers are scarce in OpenStreetMaps--at least in some areas. I was hoping to to find a way to import more complete house number data from elsewhere. If anyone has tips, I would be grateful.
If you know a source that is suitably licensed, then getting that imported into OpenStreetMap would be the best way.
That is what was done in France, the whole government database was imported, so address information should be fairly complete.
openaddresses.org unfortunately seems like a licensing mess unfortunately, which would make it a problem to use even if it wasn't just too much effort.
The other option for areas you are in frequently is to just add the information to OpenStreetMap and encourage others to do the same...
Your suggestions above are the best. OpenAddress is designed to be open, yet a licensing file will list some contributions licensed as "unknown--attribution required." The OpenstreetMaps article https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenAddresses.io says to research each license before importing. This is a lot of work and and a discouraging shame because OpenAddress has an impressive quantity of up-to-date house number addresses--at least I found that in USA areas that I checked. According to https://www.mapzen.com/blog/openaddresses-celebrates-400-million-addresses/ "While OpenStreetMap has address coverage in more places, OpenAddresses covers six times the number of addresses overall and often has more complete coverage in those fewer places."
On the other hand, OpenAddress content is at least open enough to satisfy the criteria its administrators have established. Plus some mappers' usages do not necessitate the freest license such as that of OpenStreetMaps. So I still wish OpenAddresses could be an option for Offroad. I wish a tool like that in https://github.com/codeforamerica/streetscope/ could be merged into Offroad and selectable as an optional feature. (For those who can work with OpenAddress licensing and download its data separately.) Such a tool could be labeled as a convertor--no need to mention OpenAddress source.
