OFC to KMyMoney converter / News: Recent posts

Today we tried importing a Bradesco .ofc file into kmymoney using ofc2kmm and it worked just fine, so now the officially supported bank statement files are from Banco do Brasil, Bradesco and Caixa Econômica Federal.

Few days after I oficially filed a complaint about the changes in Banco do Brasil .ofc format, I received a phone call from them explaining the changes. I suggested they could come out with the old format again. Guess what... they did it!

In order to work around the recent changes in Banco do Brasil OFC format, I created the csv-bb2kmm script. It allows you to import a bank statement in CSV format, which is also made available by Banco do Brasil online banking system. The installation procedure and usage is very similar to ofc2kmm's.

For some yet unknown reason (to me at least...) Banco do Brasil changed its .ofc format again. Now it internally uses XML, and this messed up ofc2kmm once again. I'm working in order to fix ofc2kmm, but in the meantime I guess i will release a csv2kmm too, which will be able to import the CSV files which are also available in the online banking system.

For some strange reason the .ofc bank statements from Banco do Brasil had their format updated so that all transactions are now ended by closing tags.

This means all files imported by version 1.0 of ofc2kmm will have some garbage together until ofc2kmm is fixed to work around the file format change.

I recommend you wait for version 1.1, unless you don't mind erasing some closing tags from your data :)

I just found out the bank statements generated by the Caixa Economica Federal website are also in OFC format and can be converted just fine by ofc2kmm. All you have to do is click on the "MONEY" button on the website and you'll get the .ofc file.
