Hi all! I set monitoring for all OFC forums back in November, and according to the online info, I am still monitoring. However it has not sent me any email about my new message on the Developer forum from last Saturday. I suspect that the forum monitoring (and other stuff?) has fallen prey to the differentiation between subscribers and non-subscribers at SourceForge. Latest OFC: I have a first roughed in implementation of the single-document/view architecture. The testing program has been modified to run using that architecture. I have been contemplating modifying OFC so that it can compile alternately under Linux, like wxWidgets. Any comments on that idea? Best regards, Bill Herndon |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hi! I have done a first pass at implementing CCmdTarget, but I could not figure out how to do maps without adding a define to the sources: I need to specify the target class in each entry, and the only way I know to do that, is to use a define ahead of time or worse, specify it in each line. Does anyone know if there is a way to cause a define to occur from within a macro? Or perhaps someone knows another way around this problem? Bill mailto:sha...@us... |

Hi! (Special message at the end for German speakers) I've been doing a lot of work on OFC, even though I only have time on weekends. I haven't gotten to the really interesting part yet, windows. But I'm close. I've been laying the groundwork and testing pretty thoroughly: I don't want to start on windows, only to find I've screwed up on something basic. If you want to know what I've been doing in short form, you can have a look in the OFC developer forum. If you are interested in trying out what I've been doing, I would be *very* happy to have some feedback. If you've tried to compile or test OFC but have had a problem, please tell me. If you want to do some work, even better! Send me a message, and we'll coordinate who should work on what. I check my mail on a daily basis. Question: how many of you speak German? How many speak better German than English? I am fluent in German, though not better than English. If there are enough German language developers, then perhaps we should consider doing something to accomodate them. It's not much fun to develop in a language you aren't good at. Have fun! Viel Spaß! Bill mailto:sha...@us... |

Hi all ofc developers, ift's a time ago since we have mailed us. Bill Herndon subscripes to ofc for three month and he have written in the meantime a big peace of excelent OFC code. He ask me for this malinglist so i have created it on sourceforge and i supscribe all current developers. If you don't want to stay on the list anymore;please let me know. I hope that the work of bill will also motivate the other deveopers to start coding again. My job at BMW as a software-engeneer doesn't allow me to do a significant part yet. Best wishes, Carsten Breuer. PS: I know, my english is realy ..... :-(((((. |
