What fileformat does odin use for it's images?
Is it compatible to some linux tools (dd, partimage) so that we could restore image using a linux live cd?
Thanks

I've been seriously experimenting with Odin recently, and am disappointed that the compressed .img files it creates do not appear to be Linux compatible. Though images can be created using gzip compression, the resulting files appear not to be in .gzip format. Thus you cannot write the image back from a Linux Rescue CD using the zcat command. (Presumably, you could write uncompressed images back using cat.) This is a blow, as the advantage of using Odinc via a script to create images in the background is rendered pointless. I've returned to doing attended backups with the faster SelfImage, the product of which can be reliably restored under Linux with zcat.
