X-Mas 2007 release

It's been almost a year, so time for an update. No stunning new features, but I've added some nice extras to the session screens. Extra lock information that might help you out when you're looking for more info on what a session is doing.

Seasons greetings to you all. More features will follow in 2008.

1.1.b

To keep the momentum going I've released a new version. Some minor fixes in the layout department as usual. I've also added some info to the explain screen and am looking into some more.

As usual, upgrading is easy as can be; save your odd.conf and extract the new zip into your ODD directory.

1.1a -- It's Web 2.0 baby!

You know you want it, admit it. So we've added Ajax to ODD. We're not all around yet, but some of the screens that take more time than others have been modified to do parallel requests to your webserver. Why? Because it will look faster.

And everyone loves speed even more than Ajax.

1.0e released

Did you ever wonder why the query form and the explain form were two seperate forms? Well, I did. And I couldn't figure out a sensible reason. So from now on, it's just one form.

1.0d released

Some small corrections were made and some find options added. Make sure to keep your existing odd.conf if you're upgrading, otherwise you'll have to add your profiles again.

Call for comments

Okay, so you downloaded the project. What next? Did you try it? Did it work? Did you manage to install it? Did you use it?

So many questions... but the forums are clean.

Don't be shy. Leave a comment. A rant. Anything.
If you feel the packages s*cks, tell me why and I'll try and fix it. If you think it rocks, tell me and I'll pay you (uhm... no, just kidding, but you get my drift).

In other words: GET INVOLVED and let's make things better.

1.0b released

Install problem

For those trying the installation and not being able to figure out what's wrong; the configuration file needs to be writeable, so you will need to change the permissions on your documentroot for ODD to allow your webserver to write there.

Alternatively, open up php-bin/clsConfig.php, scroll all the way down and change this line:

$GoConfig = new clsConfig();

to something like:
$GoConfig = new clsConfig("/tmp/odd.conf");
where /tmp/ can be any directory that's r/w accessible to your webserver.... read more

1.0a released

It's here; version 1.0a. Main change is the storing of backend information in a .conf file, instead of in a MySQL database. The need for installing MySQL has thus been eliminated from this release on.

It's now possible to create a login account simply from the startpage, just follow instructions. All passwords are scrambled in a way that *should* atleast make it hard to find them. I can't/won't guarantee 100% safety, but to the average (non packet sniffing) user, they won't be visible.... read more

Celebrations

It seems that celebrations are in order, we passed the 100 downloads mark ;)

FYI, we're working on a new release, this will be a 1.0 release where we will most likely be dropping the MySQL database as our own backend. It seems this is too much of a barrier for installation (and we don't need barriers, do we?). Also, some new Oracle 9i and Oracle 10i optimalisation helpers will be added.

Estimated release date is around the 10th of may.... read more

Oracle Database Dashboard 0.9 released

The first release is here, dubbed 0.9 to signal that it's close to a production version. Close in the sense that the basic functionality is there, it's just lacking some administration functions.

Website will be up shortly with some screenies.
