Request:
An option to enable or disable anti-aliasing at runtime

Explanation:
Anti-aliased fonts are rendered differently on different platforms. On my platform (Windows) they show up as blurry fuzzy characters that do not look good when figures are copied/pasted for use in other documents.

you are both right and wrong:
the anti-aliased fints are rendered in exactly the same way in all platfroms since octplot uses an internal font renderer (ftgl).
Howsever I agree that they are fuzzy and annoying in all platforms.

The problem is that when AA is turned off, the fonts look even worse. I tried that when I started to incorporate font rendering and the results were very bad.

The problem might be overcome by having better fonts, but at the time (~ 2 years ago) those fonts were the best available Free fonts I found.

If someone can find better Free fonts, which render better in small fontsizes, I'll be happy to use them

Can you please try svn version 466?

I tweaked some font rendering parameters and it looks much better IMHO. Still not perfect though.
