Installation on Windows

Start GNU Octave, from the GNU Octave session run i.e.:

pkg install C:/Users/joe/Downloads/pgfplot-x.y.z.tar.gz

Customize path and file name. The point is to use forward slashes instead of backslashes in the file name.

Running the package installation as non-privileged user installs the package for the user only.

Running the package installation with administrator privileges installs the package for all users. The recommended method is to use "Run as administrator" to start GNU Octave.

DK tools

Installation of the plpdftex program from the “Dirk Krauses tools” [dktools:wiki:Home] SourceForge project is recommended. The plpdftex program is an additional driver for the pgfplot package, it allows to create PDF+TeX and EPS+TeX file pairs. Without plpdftex the pgfplot package can create PGF files only, processing in latex/pdflatex takes longer for these files.
