How it will look like

Phase 1) Build a tool to adjust the system: "OLT" (Octopus Linux Tentacle).

Phase 2) Build a tool to set the parameters which "OLA" will read to adjust the system: "OLC" (Octopus Linux Cephalo).

Phase 3) "OLC" will generate "OLT" by the end of the process, creating packages for both Fedora and Ubuntu, according to the user desire.

Gotta start from somewhere

Today Octopus Linux project was accepted in Sourceforge. We have a long way to go, and we hope it'll be a pleasant way.

For now, there's not a single bit of code written, just some sketches on some papers.

The main objective of this project, as it is written on the summary, is to create a tool that will setup some distros (initially Ubuntu and Fedora) and make them look alike.

The idea behind this is to create a tool that will enable people to create their personalizations on a distro without creating a new distro, i.e., without packing a full 700MB ISO file.... read more
