Are you sure?  I rebuilt DOCSTRINGS without using omit_deps and I get=20
the same result:

   Avocado:~/Downloads/octave-2.9.3/src paulkienzle$ diff -cp DOCSTRINGS=20=

DOCSTRINGS-nodep
   Avocado:~/Downloads/octave-2.9.3/src paulkienzle$

Can you please tell me how they differs?
