[OctDev] x86_64 patches

Attached is a patch that allowed me to compile octave-forge-2005.06.13 
on octave-2.9.2 x86_64.  Main issue is the changing of octave_idx_type 
from int to long, so requiring a change of int variables to octave_idx_type.
