As the author of the admin/get_authors script I do feel compelled to 
keep it working properly.  How about this:  if someone can define
a standard format by which an author identifies him/her self in 
contributed files, I'll make sure get_authors is able to parse that
format.

Barring an convention, author names will be all over the place and the
script will get increasingly more difficult to maintain.     -- Al
