A "make dist" target seems like a pretty good idea. At this point I think only the docs in main/comm/doc and main/fixed/doc would need to be built for a distribution.=20 In any case with a quick look at this, it's not straightforward since the docs need Makeconf to identify where to find the scripts mktexi and mkdoc. However, Makeconf is removed with a "make dist". What I think would be th= e easiest fix is to recreate the variable MKDOC and MKTEXI if they don't exist, due to the fact that Makeconf doesn't exist.. I'm thinking about it.. D.
