CVS as of today (with my patch for main/fixed/Array-f.cc) builds 
cleanly on OS X 10.3.4 and octave 2.1.57.

"cleanly" == "./configure; make; make check"

FWIW, I can't get octave-forge to build with octave from CVS (today), 
but it's late and I can't look into it now.
