[Ocf-linux-users] What are the issues with Kernel 2.6.22 and Preemption?

Hi All,

I just found this project and am preparing my test system. The system uses
kernel 2.6.22 (Ubuntu 7.10) and it's default is Preemption = Voluntary (It's
a Soho multi use system). What issues will this kernel setting cause with
ocf. I am using a Soekris VPN1401 which is little more than a reference
implementation of a HiFn 7955, Rev0, 32k dram ?

I have had several reports of crashes using preemption on 2.6 with OCF.
IIRC most of those are from cryptosoft users, but I am not 100% sure,  I
haven't had a chance to debug it yet.  Hopefully something I can try
when I am back in the office.

I have used OCF and a hifn PCI card on a Soekris net4801 board without any
problems,

Hi Sam,
               I had similar problem with 2.6.22 ubuntu, VOLUNTARY
PREEMPTION on. The machine hangs. It works fine if VOLUNTARY PREEMPTION is
disabled.
