I've been playing around with OMake and it *is* much nicer than GNU Make (and SCons, jam, and cook, IMO), but there are still some relatively serious issues with the current (pre-1.0) releases, so I don't think it would be a good idea to use it for ExtLib just yet. Most of the issues are being addressed and it looks like OMake may become a very nice build system (not only for OCaml-based projects, but also in general).
