The Observatorium Roof Controller, known going forward as ORC, is a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) solution using an Arduino MKR Zero and MKR Eth Shield. This device aims to act as a roof control system and it is an excellent addition to any observatory to accomplish hands-off control of the roof for astrophotography. With the Observatorium, fully compliant, ASCOM driver, the roof can be operated using the ORC Windows application or any automation software supporting the IDomeV2 driver in ASCOM v6.5 or newer.
While this device DOES NOT guarantee weatherproofing, it is an excellent addition to any observatory to accomplish hands-off control of the roof.
