Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

I'm willing to help:) I am not sure if my first response went through or not. But I have had a major set back tonight since my main computer DIED, hopefully I can replace it by tommorow but it stole a night that I was going to dedicate to heavy work on Stage one. But yes I would like some help, I am not sure what you would feel more comfortable working on Accounting or Domain. But eithier way I am sure a longer discussion is needed for me to convey my ideas to you. On that note I would suggest as a group we start congregating on irc.freenode.net channel: #obs I am Pacific Standard time but most of the time I work until 3 am :) backlin220 please let me know of a time in which we can further discuss Arch. in IRC. I have made some changes to the OBS Overview UML that can be found at: https://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=16816&group_id=73206 It shows the different stages of development that are planned, currently I am working on stage 1 and I would be interested in some help in the Web Portion of development. So if someone would be up for it let me know. |

I just checked in new code that updates the accounting structure. I don't think it is deployable at this point but it compiles. I am attempting to retrofit the Accounting section since there were alot of initial problems w/ it. Mostly in loose typing etc.. etc... I will run through some tests later tonight and try to make the project deployable again. |
