Please consider amending the definition of "abnormal ultimobranchial body morphology [MP:0003955]" to read as:
DEF: any structural anomaly of the outpocketing of the caudal-most branchial pouch of the embryo (interpreted as a fifth pouch in human or as the ventral component of the fourth pouch in mouse) that fuses with the thyroid diverticulum, ultimately giving rise to calcitonin-producing parafollicular cells (aka C-cells) which function in calcium homeostasis; in most mammals, these parafollicular cells fully disperse with the endodermally derived follicular cells of the thyroid by birth
SYN: abnormal postbranchial body morphology
SYN: abnormal telobranchial body morphology
SYN: abnormal telopharyngeal body morphology
SYN: abnormal ultimobranchial gland morphology
SYN: abnormal ultimopharyngeal body morphology
SYN: abnormal ultimopharyngeal gland morphology
SYN: abnormal corpus ultimopharyngeum morphology
Then add new term:
persistent ultimobranchial bodies
DEF: partial or complete failure of the ultimobranchial bodies to fuse with the ventral thyroid primordium; as a result, ultimobranchial bodies remain as unilateral or bilateral vesicles composed exclusively of calcitonin-producing cells
