We need a grouping term for the many types of inflammation (for example, gastrointestinal inflammation, inflammatory abnormality of the skin).

This could be defined as an abnormal GO:inflammatory response
(though the GO hierarchy is a bit odd too, this class has superclasses 'response to wounding'
'defense response', probably need some more specific subclasses.

Request was for 'Inflammatory mediated disease', which isn't a good HPO term, but speaks to the need for a generalized abnormality of inflammatory response.

Inflammatory mediated disease can be a normal response of the organism. Abnormal inflammatory response can be say the lack of a response or too much response. I would think the original term request was more of the "too much inflammation" variety, but I dont suppose you have some way of asking?

I will ask, but perhaps good idea to have something general like 'abnormally increased inflammatory response' and 'abnormally decreased inflammatory response'?

I added this as (HP:0012647), def : Any anomaly of the inflammatory response (GO:0006954), a response to injury or infection characterized by local vasodilation, extravasation of plasma into intercellular spaces and accumulation of white blood cells and macrophages.

Note that we probably need an additional child term to group all of the chronic inflammation terms, gastrointestinal inflammation, inflammatory abnormality of the skin). ANy ideas?
