Details:

Headline: editor problem, multiple function tree tabs...
Description: I think that multiple setMode() calls (to switch back and forth between the regular mode and an EscapeMode) are causing problems... since the mode.initializeFrame(this) happens every time, osMode is creating a new function tree utility tab.  This may also be related to the "no more undos" problem
