It could be launched as a clean room OpenSource JDO implementation project. The OJB team won't object to such a project organization as this will save us a lot of work ;-) But: My practical experience with OpenSource projects tells me that it will be somewhat difficult to set up an additional project. OS projects are initiated and driven by people who feel responsible for "their" project. Who feels responsible for this additional project? It's good to reflect about optimal project organization etc. But we must not forget that you'll rely on volunteers doing all the work. cu, Thomas |
