Jason, thanks for submitting these terms. We like to keep track of the projects that are contributing to and using OBI. Can you provide us some background?
Thanks, Chris
These are for project ENCODE. At the DCC, we recieved requests for these new terms at some time before I came on-board, so unfortunately, I cannot give specifics on these terms.
Are these meant to be a type of RT-PCR (i.e., an enzymatic amplification) or are they meant to be types of assays?
If an assay, what is the objective? transcription profiling/ transcript analysis?
They are meant to be types of RT-PCR.
Thanks. Will move ahead and put these in as such.
Would it also be appropriate to create a term for RACE, as follows?
editor preferred term: rapid amplification of cDNA ends
alternate terms: RACE
textual definition: The use of reverse transcription and PCR to amplify mRNA sequence between a defined internal site and the 5' or 3' end of the mRNA.

discussed on Jan 11, 2016 obi call. Agreed to add under RT-PCR. WIll clean up textual definition to match standard form.
