For me, if you are interested in using it, that is a good start. I suggest you use it first to get a feel of it. You can start asking like "How can I do foo in oasserver". Well. If you ask me developing using OAS Server no more difficult than developing in php. But it places lot of emphasis in good design because you can see your mistakes in stark contrast very upfront because it is a threaded C++ application.
