Linux kernel 2.4.31
Gentoo 2005.0
NVTV version 0.4.7
(using sourceforge source, not gentoo supplied sources)

Here's some relevant output:

lspci:
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia
Corporation nv40 [GeForce 6800 Ultra] (rev a1)

dmesg:
NVRM: loading NVIDIA Linux x86 NVIDIA Kernel Module
1.0-7667 Fri Jun 17 07:01:04 PDT 2005

nvtv:
Fatal: No supported video card found.

nvtv -d:
init root
Fatal: No supported video card found.

nvtv -P:
Fatal: Either you are not root, or no NVidia card found.

nvtv --card-addr 01:00.0
Fatal: No supported video card found.

nvtv works fine with my geForce ti4200, I thought
nVidia uses a unified driver for all cards, why would a
card not be found?

    I second this.
nvtv works fine on older nvidia cards, but not on the GForce
6800. I'd appreciate support for this card.

I get exactly the same errors for my FX5500. Running Kubuntu 5.1

Same here, with an AGP ASUS N7600GS.

Could this be because ASUStek sets the vendor code on their cards to ASUStek, and the source checks for nVidia?
