Dear NuTo developers: We plan to change the version control system of NuTo from subversion to git. Git is a distributed revision control system that allows to have multiple repositories, local version control and easy and lightweight branching possibilities. It will be hosted in the NuTo project on sourceforge.net and will be a clone of the current svn repository. Thus, the complete project history is kept. The project state at the 1st of June 2015 will be used to create the git repository. Until then, we kindly ask you to commit your current implementations to the svn repository. We plan to finish the setup by the 2nd of June 2015 at the latest and will provide instructions on how to setup your local git repository. Most of the git commands are similar to the svn ones. As a first guess, just replace "svn <command>" with "git <command>". Nevertheless, we recommend doing some short tutorials for the git interface. My personal favorite is the following short and neat 15 minutes tutorial from github: https://try.github.io/ A more advanced information available at http://www.vogella.com/tutorials/Git/article.html If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. Best regards, Thomas Titscher |

Dear NuTo-developers, I've created two mailing list in order to post information like this one. I'd like everybody who is interested in news related to NuTo to subscribe to this mailing list. For developers: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/nuto-developers For (end)users https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/nuto-users Further emails will only be send to this mailing list (not directly to your email accounts). Additionally, I'd like to announce that I've updated and corrected the testfile for the Brick8N. So all the groups having implemented a tetrahedron within the workshop can now finish their work and construct a testfile similar to Brick8N. If there are problems related to the implementation post your problem at https://sourceforge.net/projects/nuto/develop at the forum (forums). You'll get an immediate reply.
