[Numpy-discussion] int64 wierdness

Hi,

I'm running python 2.4 on a 64bit linux and get strange results:
(int(9))**2 is equal to 81, as it should, but
(int64(9))**2 is equal to 0

Is it a bug or a feature?

Thanks for the bug-report.  Please provide the version of NumPy you are 
using so we can track it down, or suggest an upgrade.

numpy.__version__ says 0.9.8.

Python 2.4.2, GCC 4.1, OpenSuSE 10.1 (x86_64).

An SVN checkout from a week or two ago looks OK on my amd64 machine:

astraw@hdmg:~$ python
Python 2.4.3 (#2, Apr 27 2006, 14:43:32)
[GCC 4.0.3 (Ubuntu 4.0.3-1ubuntu5)] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

Confirmed to be fixed on my gentoo amd64 machine, numpy svn of couple of
days ago:
