Can someone give me a hint as to where in numpy the  AMD and UMFpack librar=
ies=20
are used, if at all? I ask, because they have their respective sections in=
=20
site.cfg.example in the trunk.

AMD and UMFpack are optional parts of scipy.linsolve, so if you do not
want them you can freely ignore the entries in site.cfg (or remove them).
