I tested numarray-0.8 on Darwin, but I tested it against user installed
versions of Python 2.2.3 and 2.3.2. Both of these versions define
bool. On the version of Mac OS-X I've got (10.2?), /usr/bin/python is
2.2.0, and it does not define bool.
So, I don't think there is a clean compile, at least not for Mac users
who don't also install updated versions of Python.
