I was talking with Jonas on AIM today... here's the gist: 1. He has a patch ready for https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=21382 - that will produce Format.pm version 1.52 when he commits it 2. We will make minor fixes to the test suite and docs for a 1.52 release which will be the first release done via Sourceforge. 3. We will switch the tests to use Test::More and clean up the locale support, since that was written when Perl had really poor locale support and is causing most of the bugs these days. This will be release 2.0 and will also include any needed API changes and bug fixes. 4. Up until now, CVS file versions on Format.pm have been the source of the version numbering for the releases. That made sense while I was the only developer but now we have to decouple that. 1.52 will be the last version where Format.pm's version is the release number. After that we can just manually increment it and not have it be derived from CVS. Any comments or concerns? -- Help bring back the San Jose Earthquakes - http://www.soccersiliconvalley.com/ |
