Just uploading at the moment - not sure how long I can keep it there as it puts me slightly over my quota, but working on other places for it to live - also trying to get a torrent tracker set up. Does anyone feel it would be beneficial to set up a "proper" forum as opposed to the sourceforge one? I'm quite happy to do it, in the long run I expect it will help everyone who wants to use nTPV - Its taken me about 3 weeks hard work to get it working as well as it is, but there are still a few bits I could do with working on - primarally making it less spanish.... follow link from http://www.ntpv.co.uk (its currently on wired.st-and.ac.uk but may well be moving to a different server later today or tomorrow, when it moves I will update the link.) Adrian If you want to give me a way to get it and/or we could make a torrent of it.? I could leave it up half the day @ 150-200k up. I have the ntpv-rc2bb working on a Debian box. No translations, patches or anything. 'Centro de Informas' does not work on mine (maybe I am missing something), everything else seems to work nicely, touch screen included. Does the 'Centro de Informas' work? Any Translations? Justin |

Tengo entendido que no hay repositorios para debian. Debes descargar el paq= uete debian tu mismo e instalarlo.=0A=0AHe le=EDdo varios correos de gente = que no pudo instalar el sistema. Yo instal=E9 el sistema siguiendo las expl= icaciones de la p=E1gina de Napsis, algunas precauciones se deben tener al = respecto.=0A=0ASi no puedes instalar desde paquetes, puedes compilar el sis= tema desde cero. La =FAltima versi=F3n trae un makefile basado en qmake que= hace (se supone, no lo he probado) el proceso m=E1s sencillo. Bueno, ahora= no tengo mucho tiempo, si tienes una duda en particular, no dudes en manda= rla a la lista. I'm not sure how it compares to nTPV (I never got it working), but TinaPOS (http://sourceforge.net/projects/tinapos) is a fairly nice, and popular, project. I'm a developer for TinaPOS+ (http://sourceforge.net/projects/tinaposplus) it's a fork of TinaPOS that's going to get it's name changed soon. Right now TinaPOS+ is still undergoing a re-write of the backend and is not really ready for deployment but it's gaining a decent developer base, TinaPOS however is actively being used by a lot of businesses. Oddly enough a lot of the TinaPOS/TinaPOS+ crowd speaks Spanish as well... thanks, Aaron |

Great to hear a response so quicly. Yeah i tried to install it on Ubuntu and on Debian... No success on either. The live CD runs, but then again it is allin spanish and i dont see a live cd running a full POS solution. I think it is better as a demo... but then again that is just my oppinion. This is really the only good looking Linux based POS system on the opensource market that i have seen. Everything else seems to either look unprofessional or be for more of a retail environment. I would love to be able to have a great Linux based counterservice or Bar type of solution. I think there could be a great demand for someone willing to go around selling their services to deploy and support this. I have 5 years experience in Hospitality POS. It would be great to see something opensource excell. That way i dont have to worry about territories.... The main players for POS either sell direct or have VAR territories. So if you want to provide a solution in the California bay area..... screwed..... Has anyone seen a opensource project that compares to nTPV? Preferably in English? Hi, it seems to me that this proyect is almost avandoned. You are rigth is= =20 very good loking but instalation is kind of a pain. I tried install it on Mandriva 2006 and never had succeded... but the live = CD=20 worked fine.... later i found info telling it will be easily installed on= =20 Devian but i never tried that. Quisiera preguntar si alguien ha tenido la experiencia con ntpv (1.2) sobre= postgresql8.1. Estoy intentando instalar ntpv desde cero, en un segundo co= mputador, luego de utilizarlo por m=E1s de un a=F1o y no quiero cambiar de = versi=F3n, he hecho algunos arreglos (a la interfaz, productos, etc.) y cre= o que pueden no ser compatibles con la nueva versi=F3n. Tu puedes bajar el ISO ntpvLive en este link: http://ntpv.manaha.com/download/ntpv_livecd.iso.bz2 El ISO esta comprimido con la extension .bz2 asi que me imagino que debes tener un programa que pueda extraer esa clase de archivo. Hello I have installed ntpv POS in my debian linux system. The installation went on well and the software works great. But the problem is with the spanish language. I searched through the net and found some translation .PO files. But they translated only part of the software. Rest is still in spanish. I couldn't do anything about it. So can anyone please tell me how to translate the whole software to english or may be kind enough to send me the .PO translation file for the whole ntpv software(ntpv and ntpv_backoffice). Hola: Quiero instalar en mi bar el sistema de gesti=F3n NTPV, tratando de manejarme con software libre y ademas por la buena prensa que tiene vuestro programa . Luego de probar un poco la versi=F3n b=E1sica vi que faltan los archivos de impresi=F3n , gestion de stocks y copias de seguridad. Al tratar de contactar con napsis para obtenerlos, me enter=E9 que ya no existen y luego de llamar a los distribuidores, vi que la mayor=EDa de ellos han dejado de trabajar con con NTPV y Linux. Lo cierto es que necesitar=EDa un poco de informaci=F3n porque supongo que el proyecto sigue vivo y quisiera ser un usuario mas. Lo que yo necesito ser=EDa montar un TPV con su impresora , saber si puede agregarse una impresora en cocina e incorporar algun comandero electronico, tipo ORDERMAN o similar. Lo primero ser=EDa confirmar si tu programa me permite hacerlo ahora o en un futuro ya que depende los costos no s=E9 si pueda hacerlo todo junto o lo haga en dos etapas. La personalizaci=F3n de pantallas y articulos y demas supongo que la podr=E9 hacer yo. Hello everybody. After one week working on it I have compiled ntpv in a xubuntu system. But when i launch the aplication I get some aplications errors: [1] no existe el directorio borland en /home/user/borland (/home/user/borland folder not exists) [2] error tratando de establecer la conexion (error when trying conecting) [3] QLayout: Cannot add null widget to QGridLayout/unnamed [4] ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 6735, errno = 32 any idea about [3] & [4]????? i think that [2] error is a postgre problem but i don't find some bad conection in postgre logs Thanks |

Hi guys. a very silly question: I have installed ntpv succesfully, but when I try to launch the application using the command line (#ntpv) it gives me the following error: "cannot conect to Xserver". I Know I might be opend using a command or from an launcher in the the programs list in KDE, but I cannot find it. I'd appreciate any help you could give me to solve this problem. Aparentemente en tu repositorio solamente has descargado uno de los archivos de instalacion (.deb), y te faltan las otras dependencias. Yo tuve un problema adicional, en la instalacion de gdchart, pero se resolvio facilmente escogiendo apt-get install libgdchart-gd2-xpm. Aparentemente tampoco has instalado postgresql, o por lo menos la libreria libqt3c102-mt-psql. Un saludo, Alvaro. |
